Senior Ecologist – Newcastle
Due to our continued success and expansion across Australia, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our dynamic team in Newcastle!
The Role
Reporting to the New South Wales Ecology Team Lead, you will be working on a variety of ecological projects, working within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers, planners and business development professionals. You will sit within the existing and established Ecology team that has a strong catalogue of work. Our team includes multiple BAM accredited ecologists with whom you can collaborate and continue to grow.
The following key responsibilities are expected from the candidate fulfilling this role:
Who we are looking for
You will have excellent botany and/or fauna ID skills and demonstrated experience in the delivery of a variety of ecology projects across a range of market sectors for both public and private clients. Applicants should possess an in-depth knowledge and practical application of National and State Regulations and Guidance. You will have a successful track record of gaining regulatory and planning approvals for a range of projects. You will have detailed knowledge of the NSW Biodiversity Offset Scheme and the preparation of Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports (BDARs), Biodiversity Stewardship Site Assessment Reports (BSSAR) and supporting documents.
