The Opportunity

As our ecology practice continues to grow and expand across Queensland, we are looking for a talented and driven Senior Ecologist (Associate level) to join our Brisbane team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of our ecology services, our team, supporting strategic growth, and delivering high-impact environmental outcomes.

About you

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic leader with a strong ecology background in environmental consulting, ideally, someone with at least 10 years’ who successfully led complex projects, built lasting client relationships, and mentored high-performing teams.

In this role, you will work directly with the Principal Ecologist, where you will provide both project management, technical leadership and support business growth.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage current ecology projects across Queensland.
• Drive business development and expand our ecology project portfolio.
• Provide expert input for proposals and project bids.
• Support the strategic direction of our ecology team.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
• Mentoring team members to enhance skills and technical abilities.

Ideally you will bring:

• A relevant degree in environmental science / ecology.
• Extensive experience (minimum 10 years’) in the environmental consulting industry.
• Proven success in leading teams and delivering complex ecological projects.
• Demonstrated health and safety leadership.
• A proven track record of developing business whilst leveraging existing relationships to expand the client base.
• Exceptional verbal communication, technical report writing and quality review skills.
• Industry recognition through certification, accreditation and/or active participation in related industry associations.
